CeO2 can be applied to refining slag minimize the size of inclusions, speed up deoxidization process, and adsorb Al2O3 inclusions. The impact through which content affects slag’s melting efficiency is still uncertain. thermal analyzer was used measure thermogravimetric analysis (TG) differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) curves process. According study results, with increase in content, temperature decreased first then increased. point fell from 1364 °C 1324 rose 1503 °C. XRD SEM were analyze CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-MgO-CeO2 microstructure. mineral-phase structure CeO2-containing primarily composed Ca2SiO4 3CaO·Al2O3, MgO, SiO2, CaO·Al2O3, Ca8Ce6Al6O26. proportion as rare-earth-oxide increased, while Ca8Ce6Al6O26 FactSage estimate equilibrium-phase compositions slags various compositions, a model for predicting points carried out by linear regression model. Results obtained composition crystal transformation. main reasons decrease change degree polymerization contents complete high-melting-point Ca3Al2O6 compounds. latter due number compounds precipitation increases complexity structural-network increases.
